13.3. LEI – Legal Entity Identifier
Another worth-knowing feature of the Platform is its ability to extract company data with not much more than a number – the LEI.
The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20-character, alpha-numeric code based on the ISO 17442 standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The publicly available LEI data pool can be regarded as a global directory, which greatly enhances transparency in the global financial marketplace.
The Platform uses the LEI in order to extract information from the official GLEIF registry. The legal entity’s data will be populated within the compliance results automatically with no further action required. No further inputs or edits are required from the client side.
